Industrial Design Internship (September 2025 – January 2026)

Overview
During my time at Accio Robotics, I worked on the design and development of two robotic systems, contributing to both functional problem-solving and user-centric product design. My role involved translating engineering requirements into practical, manufacturable, and visually coherent design solutions while collaborating closely with cross-functional teams. Through this experience, I gained hands-on exposure to robotic systems, mechanical constraints, and real-world production considerations. The projects strengthened my ability to balance aesthetics, usability, and technical feasibility within complex hardware environments.
Accio HyperPick
The project involved designing the exterior architecture of a gantry-based robotic system developed for dark store environments, enabling rapid and efficient order fulfilment. The robot operates on an overhead gantry framework, allowing it to retrieve and transport goods across dense storage grids while optimizing spatial efficiency and delivery speed.

Process
The process began with creating a moodboard to establish the visual language, CMF direction, and functional character of the robot within a dark store logistics environment.

Exploration
After setting on the design style I started on the concept sketches, exploring housing forms, panel integration, and service accessibility while aligning with engineering constraints.

Prototyping
To validate the concepts, I developed multiple rapid prototypes using 3D printing, allowing evaluation of form, fit, and usability. This iterative process supported design refinement and cross-team collaboration before finalizing the production-ready housing.
